Nick and Vanessa’s public brawl

nick-vanessa2.jpgWhile Jessica Simpson appears delighted with new boyfriend John [Mayer], things aren’t running so smoothly between her ex-husband Nick and his girlfriend, MTV VJ, Vanessa Minnillo.

Nick enraged Vanessa recently by flirting with a Jessica Simpson look-alike in a New York club, inviting her to sit on his lap before taking her number.


Onlookers at Plumm were shocked to see Vanessa scream at Nick, yelling at him, “We have to talk,” before storming out.

Nick quickly followed his girl and tried to jump in a cab with her, but Vanessa, 26, refused to speak to him and got in another taxi.

Still, the pair were seen looking happy together just days later.

This tiff is just the latest episode in Nick and Vanessa’s tempestuous seven-month relationship. After reports that Nick wanted to dump Vanessa because she was annoying him by speaking in baby talk, the pair reconciled and were seen hugging at a basketball match. Rumors have even surfaced that they’re planning an April (2007) wedding.

However, sources are now suggesting Nick’s flirtations with other women are an attempt to provoke Vanessa in to dumping him.

Some insiders are even going so far as to say that Nick was so pleased with the public sympathy he received when he split with Jessica Simpson, he’s hoping for the same reaction again when Vanessa eventually dumps him.
