John Mayer on Pete Wentz
Have you had enough of Pete Wentz and his constant oversharing?
Well, steel yourselves people because he has gone out talking again, now in the February issue of the Blender magazine. Remember my previous article about Pete not reading online blogs anymore because he doesn’t like to read about being synonymous to a douche bag? But he isn’t the only one talking. That certain interview comes with a bonus! His good pal, John Mayer, speaks about “the idea” of the persona, Pete Wentz.
“Pete has this fabulous meta-awareness,” John told the Blender.
“Some people mistake it for narcissism, but it’s really just his way of playing with the idea of ‘Pete Wentz.’ His genius is he’s always one step ahead,” he adds.
He also admires the way that his buddy, Pete has dealt with the perils of tabloid romance with his wife, singer/ actress, Ashlee Simpson.
“To have this beautiful relationship with someone who gets attacked so often, and to handle it with such grace and respect — I just find that really impressive,” said the rocker.
Well, remember that on the Howard Stern show, Pete said that John Mayer was his “man crush”, though he “copped” it when he married Ashlee? Awww, Pete, based on this interview, I think he might just return the feelings. Although he might have “copped” it too now that he is involved with another blonde bombshell, Jennifer Aniston (who, by the way, is making waves in the box office, opposite Owen Wilson, in the romantic- comedy, Marley & Me. Go Jen!).
