Jess and Brit to be the Next “Laverne and Shirley”?
Oooohhh…it seems that pop stars Britney Spears and (former pop star in her case) Jessica Simpson may throw away all the rivalry that they had before and join together for a comedy sitcom.
The grapevine has been abuzz with news that the 28-year old Dukes of Hazzard star has approached the year old Circus singer to join her for a new sitcom.
Rumor has it that Jess is trying to convince Brit that the two blondes should team up for a buddy comedy series in the lines of the popular and well-loved series, Laverne and Shirley. Question, who will play Laverne and who will play Shirley?
Well anyway, what did the Pop Princess have to say to the proposal?
“Britney seems genuinely interested in working with her. She’s said they’ll talk further when she finishes her Circus tour,” Contactmusic has quoted a source as saying.
Awwww…do you think can pull it off?
“And Jessica wants to prove to the world that she’s a talented, funny actress, not just some silly airhead,” the “source” added (why could they not jus go ahead and tell people their names if they are so credible?!).
Well, I think it would be quite interesting to see the two blondes collaborate together. I mean, Jess has already a slate in acting, having starred in films such as Major Movie Star, Blonde Ambition, and Employee of the Month (I think, she has played the part of the dumb yet determined blonde, to perfection), and Brit’s performance last year in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, where she played a confused secretary, earned her rave reviews. It would be quite the show if this pulls through.
