Eminem Puts Jessica in his Time Capsule

When rapper Eminem explained why he portrayed Jessica Simpson with a heavier figure and eating a huge burger, he said that he wanted to people to remember that at the time that the video came out, Jessica was fat.
“I mean, not really fat but she certainly got fat for … well, Jessica Simpson got fat for Jessica Simpson!” he explains.
I like how he said that! “She did not get fat, but she got fat for Jessica Simpson.” I mean, if it were some other celebrity, who was already curvy in the first place who got even curvier, then I don’t think that they would make the headline.
What is the driving force behind Eminem’s seemingly brash and most of the time, rude, parodies? Does he have a problem with Jess and Tony, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Sarah Palin, or Pamela Anderson? Well, no. He hasn’t got any problem with them at all, the same way that he hasn’t got any problem ruffling up some feathers and making some people’s temperatures raise. He just feels that his singles are “little time capsules of what’s going on in pop culture right at that moment.” I think I see the sense behind his reasoning.
“I’ve always wanted people to be able to look back at each video and go, ‘Oh, remember what was going on at that moment!’” he says. “‘Oh, that’s when Jessica Simpson got fat.’ And even if she gets thin again, that’s fine. But for that moment in time, she was fat.”
It seems that the popular rapper sets more in store for recording the moment in his songs and videos than minding who gets hurt because of them.
