Jessica Simpson Takes It To The Gym

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Jessica Simpson hits the gym

If there’s one thing that Jessica Simpson has shown during this new public debacle that she is undergoing, it is that she is one strong lady.

The first time that she was seen by the public eye in lieu of her unexpected break-up with American footballer, Tony Romo, was when she was leaving the gym. Good for her! In bad times, head to the gym and work out.

However, the paparazzo who so graciously gifted us with this picture also made a damper of a caption: Jessica Simpson can’t hide her emotions…Her eyes glazed over with sadness and her head turned down as she saw photographers approaching…her body language in these pictures reveal that Simpson is still struggling to cope with the aftermath of being dumped…

Harsh much?

But Miss Simpson proves that she’s made of sterner stuff than other women who, after a break-up, binge on chocolate, ice-cream, and every sinful indulgence they can think of, or drink themselves into a serious stupor that will last for days. We haven’t seen Jess doing any of those things.

On the contrary, she is setting her eyes on making Tony eat his heart out by gaining back her old figure and seating off the pounds in the gym and going on a diet.

“Right after Tony ended things, Jessica said, ‘I want my old body back’,” a friend of the singer told US OK!

“Jess is serious about getting her body back into fighting shape. Working out is helping to give her focus and clear her head. It’s better than sitting around moping or throwing pity parties with ice cream sundaes.”

The friend added: “She doesn’t want to give anyone more reason to not take her seriously. She’s tired of weight being a talking point”

Jessica Simpson’s Trainer Advises Women to Squat

Jessica Simpson performs for fans in a tiny pair of Daisy Dukes cut-off denim shorts in Texas

For the past few months, we have seen Jessica Simpson’s weight move up and down, faster than a yo-yo. But while her “fat” image has made headlines for quite some time, a few of us could ever forget the figure she cut out in Dukes of Hazard as the sexily gorgeous, Daisy Duke.

But Jess’s trainer dishes out that Jess is not a fan of bending and bouncing to tone that trademark tush.

“Jessica really hates squats and jumping — any type of jumping she’s not on board with,” says her longtime trainer Mike Alexander, who is the man responsible for Jess’s Daisy Duke, revealed to Pop Tarts. “But she loves reverse lunges because it really isolates her glutes and her hamstrings.”

So ladies, how can you follow in her footsteps to go from flab to fab in just a few weeks?

“Squats and lunges are great butt exercises because you can use your own body weight and do several varieties of them. It’s the one thing that clients don’t enjoy because it’s not easy when done right, you’re working all the muscles in your legs which is far away from your heart so your heart is pumping like crazy so it elevates your heart rate and takes it out of you but its worth it in the end,” Alexander advised. “Cardio is also really important when working on a short time frame and don’t focus too much on mid-section. Women tend to do this because its showing in a bikini but then neglect other parts which are just as important aesthetically-speaking. If you work your stomach too much you can build up the muscles in your abdominals and it can then appear dissented.”

Jessica Simpson: “The Woman Who Sets Firestorms with a Single Photo”

When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. That’s how we’re supposed to see trials and hardships as, lemons to make the most of and make lemonade with. So when the entire media lashed at Jessica Simpson for gaining a few extra pounds, she made lemonade out of the whole situation and managed to turn it into a money-making event.

Jessica Simpson is perhaps best known for her “adorable” ditzy blonde attitude, made apparent in her reality show with ex-husband, Nich Lachley, Newlyweds. However, she is also known for her slim, drop-dead gorgeous body, as apparent in her movie, The Dukes of Hazard.

So when Jessica showed up in the most-blogged about “OOPS” and “No-No” moment in fashion history (a pair of high-waist jeans and leopard print belt), the media went into a frenzy on how she looked so “fat” in it.

“Clearly, since we saw her last, she slayed that dragon named dignity and just spooned frosting into her mouth full time,” wrote the blog “What Would Tyler Durden Do?” at the time. “Honest to God, her appearance couldn’t have been any more shocking unless she had grown glow-in-the-dark tentacles.”

Bad publicity? No, there’s no such thing as that. Really, when Jess’s critics pulled out their claws, they also threw her more publicity than she’d seen in years.

And while Jess didn’t specifically address the weight debacle that played into her scoring her new job, Jeff Olde, the executive vice president of VH1’s original programming and production, made the connection clear.

“Perhaps more than any other pop culture figure on the radar today, Jessica Simpson has been the target of our obsession with beauty on both sides of the equation,” the executive said in a statement to reporters. “She is a woman who can set trends and create firestorms with a single photo.”

Jessica Simpson is going back to reality TV

Looks like the weight issue that Jessica Simpson faced months ago has been a blessing in disguise after all.

After all the bullying and the crying that the country singer has to go through for a relative time due to her sudden weight gain, now may be the time to rise up and make some good out of the bad. Reports have it that Jess is currently visiting TV networks pitching for a reality series that would delve in the society’s fickleness when it comes to women’s bodies.

Entitled, The Price of Beauty, the series’ premise would feature Jessica “and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why.” A source shared that Jess will sure be hands-on with the show even thinking to try some of the “shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture Fear Factor.”

“Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time,” a rep of the singer shared.

Now this is one show I sure would look forward watching. The premise itself promises a life changing experience for its televiewers who in one way or another have been influenced with media’s bias on beauty.

I truly admire Jessica for having been able to come up with this idea and being brave enough to face what we call as social reality. Unlike Paris Hilton’s pathetic reality show of her looking for a best friend, I think this one would be worth-watching.

Jessica Simpson’s Squats and Humor

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Alright! Singer/ actress Jessica Simpson is trying to fix all things in her life that can be fixed. First off: her weight.

After fighting off criticisms during the first few weeks of the year because of her “weight gain scandal,” Jess is trying and working hard to get back the marvelous figure that she had. Think of her figure as Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazard, that’s her goal.

Now, getting to that goal is not easy, as those who have tried to losing weight can testify, it takes a great amount of work, perseverance, and discipline. And apparently, the 26-year old has that in spades, not only that, she has humor to go along with it too.

She has hired personal trainer, and longtime friend, Mike Alexander. Now, Mike is her trainer first, her friend second, because he is bent on getting Jess back in shape with workouts and a rigid diet. So, no slacking off and not a bit of sympathy for even those exercises that do result to pain. Good thing though that Jess is such a good sport about it all.

“On my way to workout with my trainer,” Jess wrote on her Twitter page. She then adds, “Every time we (her personal trainer) have to do squats, and he yells at me ‘Get lower like you’re in the club!’” and what does she add to that? “I don’t squat in the club unless I am peeing!”

Nice going Jess! Well, her efforts are starting to pull off as she is sporting a trimmer figure nowadays. You show them girl!

Jess Heats Up Mexico

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Jessica Simpson went on a much-needed retreat. And where to? To sunny Mexico, of course, where she raised the temperature up a notch in her revealing bikinis.

The people who lambasted her last month should see her now. Rumors and gossips of weight-loss would not even touch Jess when she showed an enviable figure in the beach through a revealing bikini.

Jess, accompanied by mom Tina Simpson and a few other girlfriends opted for a vacation in Mexico where she put to rest all the weight-rumors as she paraded around in a “knee-weakening” display of her “curvaceous assets.” Ashlee, who often tags along her big sister’s escapades, was noticeably absent. Well, I guess that she chose to stay behind with her baby boy, Bronx Mowgli. At his age now, baby Bronx is sure to be a handful, what with papa Pete off on his tour, Ash will have both mom and dad to her adorable little boy.

One other noticeable absence is Jess’s boyfriend, Cowboy quarterback, Tony Romo. He had gone off with Jess on her vacations for a lot of times. This is an issue because it was noted earlier that papa Joe Simpson wanted the two to break up. Maybe that’s why her mom was there. To make sure that her boyfriend does not show up maybe? But that’s unlikely because just a few days ago, the two were seen dining with her family.

Anyways, who cares if Tony wasn’t there with Jess? Can’t the girl get a vacation on her own? And where is it written that a boyfriend should always be with his girl in every outing? Oh well, the press will always talk, and the more talk, the more there is to blog about. But anyway, Jess should use that time to reflect and decide on where she wants her career to go.

Jessica’s Food Binge?

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Jessica Simpson, weight issues

Jessica Simpson is now accepting professional advice to cut back her weight. She has re-hired her ex-personal trainer, Mike Alexander, in the hopes that his strict fitness regime could help her control her hankering for junk food.

A “source” said: “She just can’t resist junk food. She literally needs to be watched all the time. Jessica has a problem with binge eating, which is usually triggered by stress.”

“Jessica’s most recent violation was indulging in the terrible trio of chicken wings, nachos, and alcohol at the Great Dane Pub in Madison, Wisconsin.”

Fitness guru, Rory Freedman, joins in the fray as she discussed Jessica’s weight controversy. This is what she had to say:

“You know, I have to say, I think Jessica is a beautiful girl. I think she has a gorgeous body, curves or no curves. And I feel sorry for her that she`s having to hear about her body. Nobody wants to be scrutinized. However, if we are talking about a healthy diet, I don`t think Jessica should be giving any diet advice by saying real girls eat meat. Unfortunately meat is definitely not something you want to be eating if you want to be skinny. It`s got lots of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol. People who are vegetarians have lower incidents of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and these are our nation`s top killers.”

The 28-year-old blonde beauty - who is currently dating American football star Tony Romo - recently revealed she is launching a range of dresses to make all women feel sexy.

“I know what flatters a woman, and trust me, I’ve been judged a lot in my life. By now I know what works if you’re curvy. If my clothing and accessories make you feel great and let you walk proud and tall - in big, big platform shoes - then I’m happy,” she was quoted as saying.

The Queen of Country Music Comes to Jess’s Aid

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Another celebrity has jumped into the “Defend Jessica Simpson” bandwagon! And this time, it is none other than the queen of country music herself, Dolly Parton. The popular country singer has come to the defense of fellow country music songstress, Jessica Simpson, in light of the latter’s “weight-gate scandal.”

Dolly, who has helped Jess in her debut country album, Do You Know, came to the defense of the bombarded singer, during her interview with Larry King on CNN.

“I say people always treat her bad. They always talk bad about her. I just recorded a song with her a few months ago. And I’ve never had - I’ve never been around a person any sweeter in my life. And she’s a great singer,” said the country music icon.

The singer, who has also gone through her share of mockery due to her weight came to Jess’s defense. The younger singer came under the public’s scrutiny when she appeared in a performance with a noticeably fuller and “curvier” figure, fueling off a media frenzy.

“And I’ve been fat and I’ve been skinny. And I’m not about to say something about somebody else’s weight because I know how hard it is when you gain, you know, five or six pounds, and certainly 10 or 12,” Dolly revealed.

“But I know that Jessica is a good girl. She’s beautiful to me. And I’m sure that she’s going to get some weight off just because people won’t leave her alone,” she continued on to say.

A few weeks later, Jessica came into the spotlight again. This time, after she fumbled through an opening act performance for Rascal Flatts during their tour, where the singer forgot lyrics to her song, stopped in the middle of a performance, then walked off the stage in tears.

Of that, Dolly said in relation to Jess’s stage antics, “I think every entertainer’s had nights when things go wrong. I mean you can’t remember everything all the time, and especially if you’re having hard times personally.”

Rachael Ray Envies Jessica’s Figure

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

There is actually celebrity who actually wants to be in Jessica’s shoes!

Amidst all the media hype about her weight, host Rachael Ray says that she wishes she could have a body like Jessica Simpson’s. It’s nearing summer, and food is not the only thing in the popular host’s mind, apparently, beach bodies are in her list too.

“I wish I could be as thin as Jessica Simpson,” Rachael revealed to PEOPLE while hosting the Amstel Light Burger Bash at Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

“I think she looks gorgeous!”
the 40-year old celebrity said.

“I have had Jessica on my show several times, and I can tell you that girl is genuine and funny with a great self-deprecating sense of humor,” the Emmy-award winning host said of the 28-year old country music singer who has been in her show to cook delicious meals along her side and to gossip, of course.

The host, who doesn’t look bad herself, sympathizes with Jess, and as with the other stars (and Jessica’s family) blames the apparent weight gain on her “mom jeans.”

“All of the hoopla about her weight was because of the fit of her jeans. In reality, she is a tiny, slip of a woman,” she reveals.

Oh, how sweet of Rachael to do that! I guess that the two have already bonded a little over all the food that Jess had cooked in her show over the past couple of years, and it’s so nice to hear celebrities make such nice comments like that.

Jennifer Craig Says Jess Does Not Qualify for her Weight-Loss Program

Another person to support Jessica Simpson in an unconventional way is weight-loss guru, Jenny Craig.

Pop-turned-country singer Jess has been battling rumors about her being the face of some weight-loss programs, including that of Jenny Craig. But apparently, Jenny’s company never saw the need to invite her to become their new endorser.

“Over the past couple of weeks, a lot has been made about Jessica Simpson’s purported battle with her weight and more recently Jenny Craig’s interest in partnering with Ms. Simpson,” said a statement issued by Scott Parker, VP of Marketing and New Business Development for Jenny Craig, whose recent spokeswomen have included Kirstie Alley, Valerie Bertinelli and Queen Latifah.

“Ms. Simpson has publicly stated that she is healthy, feels great and is very happy with her body. We would agree. Ms. Simpson looks fantastic and we see no reason for her to participate in a weight management program,” the statement continued.

And that, people, is that!

Meanwhile, another certified Jenny Craig spokesperson, former The Cosby Show star, Phylicia Rashad talks about her impressive weight loss and chimes in on Jessica making headlines over her fuller figure.

“It makes me wonder about the people who write such things. I wonder … what kind of lives do they lead? I’m not really interested in [Jessica’s] weight. I’m not really interested in anybody’s weight but my own,” she answered about Jessica’s weight issue. She says that pubic scrutiny on celebrities has worsened since her days on Cosby (which is to say about 10 or more years ago?)

Phylicia has already lost over 20 pounds in 12 weeks and says her family has been supporting her all the way. “My goal is to feel lighter,” Phylicia says of her weight loss objective.
