Pete’s Baby-Free Inauguration Experience

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Although the Simpson-Wentz couple both support President Barack Obama, only one of them actually made it to Washington.

Daddy Pete Wentz got a brief respite from dirty diapers as he and his band, Fall Out Boy, performed in the Mayor’s Ball and the Youth Ball, two of the inauguration parties. After the performance, Ashlee’s hubby stayed for the inauguration ceremony itself. But unlike the other celebrities in attendance, he didn’t want one of the front row seats reserved for the VIPs. Instead, this FOB, decided to go with the masses, climbed a tree and watched the ceremony from there.

And why was his better half conspicuously absent? Because of Bronx, of course! Someone has to be left behind to man the fort, and mommy Ashlee apparently was left on-duty. Of course, Bronx’s health comes first, even if this is America’s most historic event of the decade.

“We decided we didn’t want to turn him into an ice cube quite yet. It’s a little cold here,” the proud daddy revealed to told OK! at the Huffington Post Pre-Inaugural Ball.

Hopefully, he would make the most of his time away from his baby boy by catching up on some much needed rest. When asked about the dreaded sleep-deprivation of life with a newborn, he replied “Come on, would we be sleeping only eight weeks in?” Nope Pete, you won’t.

Singer/ actress and new mommy, Ashlee Simpson, joins the welcome wagon for Barack Obama, as she unites with other artists, actors, and singers to record a message for the new United States President-elect.
