Oooohhh….catfight! And involving very large cats indeed! Perez Hilton, Pete Wentz, and Ashlee Simpson, and more celebs were having a very public fight on Tweeter the day of Michael Jackson’s death (a very sad moment for me, personally. My dad loved MJ and made me listen to his songs. Condolence to the King of Pop’s family and his legion of fans.).

As I was about to Tweet on MJ’s death, I noticed that Pete Wentz had Tweeted a lot during the past few minutes. As a blogger of the Simpsons and in familial connection, Pete Wentz, I had followed the couple on Twitter. I had to retrace tens of Tweets before I found out the cause of the couple’s outraged comments: Perez Hilton.

I think that it was really insensitive of Perez to Tweet what he first tweeted regarding the then-rumors of MJ’s death. Because, even though he was far from perfect, no one could deny that he has touched the very essence of this generation’s musical sensibilities, even I was outraged at his original Tweet which said, “”We are dubious!! Jacko pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in ‘95 when he ‘collapsed’ at rehearsal!! He was dragging his heels on that just like his upcoming 50 date London residency at the 02 Arena, of which he already postponed the first few dates!!!”

“Either he’s lying or making himself sick, but we’re curious to see if he’s able to go on!!! Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!”

It even showed a picture of Jacko with the header, “Heart attack or cold feet.” Seriously Perez, could you be any more crass and unfeeling?

Okies, if you missed the furor, you can go back to the article before this. Right, so after Perez Hilton Tweeted the message that may very well be the nail on his online-reputation coffin, outraged celebrities rushed to defend Michael Jackson and criticize Perez for his harsh statements.

But what shocked me was that Perez did a total 180 degree do over and erased his previous statements, and replaced it with, “To the paparazzi and mainstream media, PLEASE give the Jackson family space. Please. We DO NOT need to see pictures or videos of them now!”

Wow. Talk about recanting change of heart. I really don’t think that another celeb had a change of heart as quickly as Perez did. But, the damage had already be done. Here are a few Tweets that I was privileged enough to read that I would also like to share with you:

Pete Wentz: “PerezHilton u can’t make ur life tearing someone apart, who is a human being, and then flip on a dime and say respect and mourn him.”

Pete Wentz: “essentially that’s what you do. Recanting after someone passes doesn’t mean shit in my book. I have no beef. But mj was a legend.”

To which Perez retorted with; I’m not recanting. He was FAR from a perfect person. EVERYONE can acknowledge that.

To which a few more celebrities got outraged over:

Ash Simpson-Wentz: perezhilton - wouldn’t it be nice to live in a judgment free world. Life is short. I know u got a heart there somewhere. Decide what side ur on.

John Mayer, also in a long-time Tweeter fight with Perez Hilton also chimed in, taking the couple’s side.

Perez then replied with:

Perez Hilton: “You and Ashlee and John must really think I’m a monster. I’m not trying to change your opinions. Nor do I care to. But if someone dies, I’m not gonna fucking celebrate that! Even ‘monsters’ have feelings.”

Pete Wentz: “so ur saying u don’t know him as a person but say he was far from a perfect person. That’s the disconnect I’m talking about,”

Perez Hilton: “He WAS. This man was accused of being inappropriate with children MULTIPLE times!”

Oh Perez, you should’ve just said “sorry” and then stopped Tweeting on that day all together to not add more fuel to the fire. Whose side are you on in this Tweeter War?

Dolly Parton has been such a great supporter of Jessica Simpson when the younger woman wanted to go into country music. But what’s this I hear that Jess isn’t showing the gratitude that the legendary Miss Parton richly deserves?

An insider (here they go again, why don’t they just expose their names so that everyone will know who blabbed?!), said that Jessica, instead of rehearsing her songs and memorizing lyrics, has been neglecting them in favor for her beau, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo.

Apparently, Jessica is blowing off tour rehearsals to have some cuddling time with her cowboy. Hmmmm, Jess, you’re kinda making things mucky for yourself, aren’t you? Assuming that this is true, of course.

“Jessica adores Dolly and trusts her completely. She says she’s ready to roll up her sleeves again, and she certainly wants success. But she doesn’t always seem willing to put in the hard work to make it happen. She would blow off tour rehearsals to hang out with Tony Romo,” said the insider.

Now, we all know that Jessica’s debut country album, Do You Know, did not exactly do well in the record sales. Dolly, who has taken on an affection for the struggling singer/ actress, has offered her to record a second country album on her label, Dolly Records.

Again, the same insider revealed to an American tabloid, the National Enquirer that the famous country singer (who is much-spoofed in Las Vegas), “sees a lot of herself in Jessica” in that fact that she too, has battled her own doubts and demons when the public’s focal point of unwanted attention was centered on her. Well, this is one of those times when I’m glad that “Birds of the same feather flock together.”

When rapper Eminem explained why he portrayed Jessica Simpson with a heavier figure and eating a huge burger, he said that he wanted to people to remember that at the time that the video came out, Jessica was fat.

“I mean, not really fat but she certainly got fat for … well, Jessica Simpson got fat for Jessica Simpson!” he explains.

I like how he said that! “She did not get fat, but she got fat for Jessica Simpson.” I mean, if it were some other celebrity, who was already curvy in the first place who got even curvier, then I don’t think that they would make the headline.

Oh! So, apparently famous rapper Eminem actually hesitates before poking fun at someone in one of his songs or videos, after all. Here we all thought that he was one of the “throw caution to the winds” kind of guy.

Well, apparently he does hesitate, if and only if, the celebrity he plans on spoofing is the girlfriend of his favorite quarterback! So that explains why he “struggled” poking fun at singer/actress Jessica Simpson in his latest demeaning video, We Made You. It seems that her boyfriend, Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, is one of Slim Shady’s favorite quarterbacks.

“Tony Romo is one of my favorite quarterbacks,” Eminem tells Detroit’s Metro Times. “So I felt kinda conflicted doing the Jessica thing.”

Oh, and here I thought that he was sensitive to Jess’s feelings. It seems that the singer’s boyfriend should receive that accolade.

The video showed a heavy Jessica Simpson look-alike, in her trademark Daisy Dukes, wolfing down a huge burger while cozying up to a football-uniformed Eminem. But, the rapper did not originally plan to have it that way. When he was still at the drawing board for his video, he had planned on having a slender Jess look-alike.

“When I say, ‘Jessica Simpson, sing the chorus,’ we were gonna have a chick who looked like Jessica Simpson come out and sing,’ he shares.

But, while shooting the video, headlines about the blonde singer’s fuller figure came out and inspired the rapper to make some last-minute changes.

“But then Jessica got fat,” he says. “I mean, not really fat but she certainly got fat for … well, Jessica Simpson got fat for Jessica Simpson!”

Oh, well. All I can say is, at least he hesitated.

Whew! Jessica Simpson’s additional poundage has really become a circus, and everyday, more celebrities are joining in on the fray. Now, Jessica’s “good friend,” Carmen Electra has come to the defense of the blonde singer/actress. She said that her friend’s body is inspirational for many women.

“She’s a gorgeous girl,” Carmen said to People magazine at the 6th annual Leather & Laces Super Bowl Party in Tampa on last Friday night.

“A lot of women would die to look as good as she looks,” she added.

Instead, like many other people, Carmen insisted that it was her unflattering outfit (mom jeans, black sleeveless shirt, and horrid leopard- print wrap-around), that was the cause of the problem, which according to her, did not give justice to the Pray Out Loud singer’s body.

She explained that, “There’s going to be moments where people don’t necessarily like your look or what you’re wearing, and that’s okay.”

“Next week, she’ll rock some outfit that will blow everyone away,” Carmen said, injecting a dose of optimism in her speech.

Meanwhile, Paula Abdul, who shares the same sentiments, joined the “Defend Jessica Simpson” bandwagon, and told Us magazine the people (read the media and paparazzi) are just being so mean.

“I think this is absolutely ridiculous. People are being so mean,” she revealed while adding, “People don’t realize that it’s damaging to one’s psyche. For women, it’s hard enough to be accepted for how you are.”

I would have to agree. Society puts too much pressure on people, specially women, to limit themselves to a certain weight limit to be called “sexy” without realizing that it affects the self-respect and confidence that she has. And besides, being “sexy” is all in the state of the mind, and if Jess thinks she’s sexy, then she is. ‘Nuff said.

Kim Kardashian, in defense of Jess, said, “Call me crazy, but when I saw the picture, I was like, ‘Oh my God, Jessica looks hot! I love high-waisted jeans, I loved that belt, and her hair looked fabulous. I get that she does look curvier, but to me, there’s nothing wrong it.”

“When I saw that picture, I knew everyone was going to say something. And I thought, ‘You know what? Leave Jessica alone!’ She’s fabulous, she’s a really sweet girl, and I admire her for putting up with it,” she tells People.com.

“I actually love the outfit. I think she looks amazing. I love high-waisted jeans, I loved that belt, and her hair looked fabulous,” she said.

The next night, Kim is still on a Jessica propaganda, by declaring that she’s twice the singer’s size!

“I am probably twice Jessica’s size,” she wrote in a post on her (where else?!) blog.

“So what do you guys think of me then?” she adds.

“I was doing Super Bowl interviews for my Leather & Laces party I’m hosting down here in Tampa, Florida, and EVERYONE seems to be asking me about Jessica Simpson’s alleged weight gain,” the reality show star narrated. “I think it’s absolutely ridiculous!!! She is not fat at all and I am actually offended that people are giving her such a hard time over this! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!”

The celebrity socialite ends her post, writing, “She is so drop dead gorgeous and the fact that the media is sending this message out to young girls is mind blowing!”

You go, girl! I think that Kim is defending, not only Jess, but also herself and other celebs who have been criticized as being “fat”.

Yahoo news just reported that the rumors are true - Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged! Here’s the scoop:

Ashlee Simpson and her rocker boyfriend Pete Wentz are engaged.

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best,” Simpson said in a statement posted Wednesday on People magazine’s Web site. “Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.”

Simpson’s manager-father, Joe Simpson, told the magazine he’s “totally happy” and “so excited to have Pete as part of (our) family.”

The couple began dating in fall 2006, according to People.

Wentz, 28, is bassist for Fall Out Boy. Simpson, 23, a singer, songwriter and actress, is the younger sister of pop star Jessica Simpson. Ashlee Simpson’s new album, “Bittersweet World,” is set for release on April 22.

A phone message left Wednesday for Joe Simpson by The Associated Press was not immediately returned.

Papa Joe Simpson is ticked off that he’s being accused of tipping off the paparazzi that his daughter was off in Cabo with Tony Romo the week before his big game.

But a source says everybody knows Joe makes deals with the paparazzi so that the family gets a cut for the sales of any good photos.

The source says, “Nobody would have known that Tony was down in Mexico with Jessica if there hadn’t been those pictures everywhere. So a lot of people suspect he tipped off the photographers, causing Tony this huge headache. But, when you date Jessica, you date Joe, too.”

Meantime, John Mayer is defending his former girlfriend, blogging that it’s not fair that the state of Texas has turned on their fair-haired daughter. He says, “That girl loves Texas more than you know…So please don’t try and take that away from her.”

Things are so bad for Jess that she’s even beefed up security.

I’ve heard rumors around Dallas that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have been dating here (Jessica is renting an enormous house in Plano, Texas, where many Dallas Cowboys live). It’s frustrating to LIVE in Dallas and never know where they are, because you KNOW I would totally follow them around and take pictures with my phone while pretending to talk on it.

Anyway, the most recent report about the two follows them on a romantic getaway to Mexico.

Talk about one way to relax before the playoffs.

They jetted off to Los Cabos, Mexico, on Friday night for a poolside vacation with some of Romo’s teammates – and Jessica’s parents. (HELLO, AWKWARD.)

She had a good reason-she was going to pick up her new man, Dallas Cowboy QB Tony Romo! An excited Jessica, with a couple of close friends, headed to meet Tony at a Dallas airport. “Jessica is a little nervous but so happy to see him,” says an insider. “Jessica thinks he is hot! He’s a really nice guy and her family loves him.”

In Touch reported last week that the couple spent Thanksgiving with Jessica’s family in Texas and were looking forward to spending more time together. The pair, who are both 27, will attend her best friend Cacee Cobb’s birthday party at Teddy’s in Hollywood on Saturday night. “She wants all her friends to meet him.” Also on the agenda for the hot new couple? “They are going take it easy and hang out at Jessica’s house.”
