Nick who divorced Jessica Simpson in June 2006 has finally won a “yes” from his girlfriend of one year, Vanessa Minnillo. “Nick brought up the topic again when he and Vanessa were celebrating Valentine’s Day,” says a source close to the couple. “Nick asked Vanessa to move from her hom ebase in NYC to be with him in L.A. At the same time he asked her for her hand in marriage.”

Jessica Simpson, who is sporting a brunette hairdo, arrived in Australia yesterday by the side of her boyfriend, singer John Mayer. John performed the first show of his Australian tour in Perth last night.

On Tuesday night (Feb 20), John Mayer played a concert in Chicago. His lovely lady, Jessica Simpson, was there grooving to his music!

They stopped for a photo op, and I absolutely adore this pic of them. While I’m not a huge fan of John (in comparison to NICK! and, yes, I will continue beat this dead horse), I think they look great here.

Double Grammy winner John Mayer was in a gregarious mood on Sunday night (February 11), where he and his fans congregated in a pink-hued outdoor cabana at the Sony/BMG post-Grammy party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The most enthusiastic buzz occurred when Mayer excitedly greeted girlfriend Jessica Simpson, now a brunette, with a bear hug and lip lock, as daddy Joe and sister Ashlee watched. But the excited buzz wasn’t over the liplock. It was over Daddy Joe’s ability to not interfere, the way he did when Jess and Nick were together.

While Jessica Simpson appears delighted with new boyfriend John [Mayer], things aren’t running so smoothly between her ex-husband Nick and his girlfriend, MTV VJ, Vanessa Minnillo.

Nick enraged Vanessa recently by flirting with a Jessica Simpson look-alike in a New York club, inviting her to sit on his lap before taking her number.

Jessica Simpson has admitted she was devastated to discover ex-husband Nick Lachey was seeing Vanessa Minnillo so soon after they split. “Oh, it hurt me,” she confesses. “Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I’d say it kind of hurt me.” The singer goes on to say she still keeps in regular contact with Nick. “He’s so much a part of my life,” she says. “Any guy who’s going to be with me from this day forward has to understand that.”

Forget Vanessa! I’d be overjoyed if Nick and Jessica ended up getting back together again.

First, you should know that I was heartbroken - h.e.a.r.t.b.r.o.k.e.n. - when Nick and Jessica split up.

Second, you should know that I’m still secretly hoping that Jess and Nick get back together, sans MTV reality shows, so that they have an actual chance at a healthy marriage.

Third, every time I see a picture of Ashlee Simpson, I am confused. Is that really her? Why does she always seem unrecognizable to me? I really think she would do well as an undercover FBI agent. Especially if she got to wear fun costumes.

Fourth, daddy Joe Simpson is a tad bit creepy. Even as much as I love Jess, I have to admit how I feel about him.

Fifth, there is no fifth. But wouldn’t it be nice if there were?
