For those of you who have lived under a rock for the past two weeks: Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have broken up. Yes, yes, though it’s just rumors because the parties concerned really didn’t say anything about it, I guess that the grapevine can be trustworthy at times. Remember, when there’s smoke, there’s fire? And there’s surely a lot of smoke billowing about.

Anyway, while Jess and Tony broke up just last week, Nick Lachey and his girlfriend of three years, Vanessa Minnillo have also called it quits. Smell something?

Jessica Simpson has her daddy, Joe, to thank for her new love, quarterback Tony Romo. A pal of the bubbly blonde said, “Joe and Tony have been friendly for a while. Joe is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, and Tony has always had a crush on Jessica - he even said on his Web site like a year ago that it was his dream to date her.

Jessica has been in Nashville and Dallas recording her new country album. When Tony found out, he called Joe and said, ‘I know she’s not dating anyone right now, can I take her out for a drink at least?’ (more…)

Owen Wilson and Jessica Simpson have known each other for years, but it took Willie Nelson to bring the Texas natives together. After reconnecting at the Spicewood, Texas set of a Nelson music video on October 15, Simpson, 27, and Wilson, 38, have been spotted getting friendly at bars from coast to coast. What we can’t figure out is WHY. I mean, we know about the rumors and all, but: WHY JESSICA AND OWEN?

On October 28, the couple hung out in a cabana at The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica, California. A week later, they were seen again dining at New York’s Waverly Inn before heading to the Rose Bar, where a witness said, “Jessica was touching Owen’s arm and flipping her hair.” In return, the fellow patron says, “Owen was charming, making Jessica laugh…it felt very date-y.” (more…)

Oh, wow. So, it would seem that I have this blog, SimpsonWatch.com. And I’m supposed to post on it about Ashlee and Jessica.

Except…I kind of kept putting it off, and putting it off, and there was just so much more interesting things to write about Britney Spears, and so I kept putting it off…until finally, I remembered: hey. Didn’t I used to write a Simpson blog also? I should really get on that.

So…what have Jessica and Ashlee been up to lately? Not much, truth be told. But I’ll still share some tidbits with you:

Ashlee, it seems, is left denying rumors whether she’s ever used Botox. This seems kind of obvious, she’s only 23 after all, but the rumors started swirling and now she’s trying to do damage control. So she’s saying, “NO, I DON’T USE BOTOX” and crediting her eyebrows to her makeup artist. Whatever. Do we really care about this? I say: No. Moving along! (more…)

Bam Margera, the star of Jackass and Viva La Bam, has come clean about his romance with Jessica Simpson. Bam and Jessica were romantically linked in 2005 while Jessica was still married to Nick Lachey. Bam is now married to his childhood sweetheart, Missy Rothstein, and we all know that Jessica is, unfortunately, divorced from Nick.

Jessica has always, always denied the rumors of a romance with Bam. Bam has adamantly boasted that he and Jessica briefly dated. Recently, Bam started talking about their brief romance again - and he came clean about the truth, admitting that his fling with Jessica ended when Bam’s former fiancee discovered the affair. Wilmer Valderrama, Nick Lachey and Nicky Hilton have joined forces to open a restaurant in Las Vegas called “The Company,” which will be located in the Luxor Hotel. Valderrama described the restaurant:

“It’s a steak house,” added the actor. “Really great. It’s going to be really special for Vegas, a different flavor.”

By that, Valderrama says he is referring to the “architecture, the chef, the vibe of the restaurant. There’s a lot of great restaurants in Vegas, but this is exciting because it’s a different branding, kind of next generation type things.”

The restaurant is set to open in a couple months.

Poor Jessica. The girl just can’t catch a break. Her movies have all been flops, or have been predicted to be flops, her music is good but…her sound is the same (sorry, it is, I had to be honest), her love life is non-existent (I’m STILL waiting for Nick and Jessica to rekindle their marriage — it’s a long shot, I know, but I still think it could totally work out) and now? NOW? Jessica Simpson has broken her nose.

Sometimes I wonder about Jessica Simpson. Sometimes I wonder whether she just plays the dumb blonde role really well, or if she’s self-absorbed, or if she really just doesn’t have any clue. She and Nick Lachey were so great together and I’m STILL holding out hope that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey will get back together.

HOW PERFECT WOULD THAT BE?

Anyway, Jess has been rumored to have dated her share of guys since breaking up her marriage with Nick (Yes, Jessica, you’re right: that really WAS the worst mistake of your life), most recently and notably: John Mayer. But John’s moved on now, right into the open arms of another blonde…do you know who?

Nick Lachey has been very busy of late. The hunky singer has been in damage control mode since photos of Vanessa Minnillo and him romping around and streaking outside of a Mexican villa were published. Many fans of his former wife Jessica Simpson and Nick as a couple are hoping that may drive him back to Simpson.

A new report claims that Jess feels the same way. OK! Magazine reports that it has been a year since Jessica Simpson’s divorce to Nick Lachey became final. Now, the pop princess is telling friends that it was the biggest mistake of her life.

Jessica Simpson is heartbroken because her romantic summer plans have gone awry.

She starts filming Major Movie Star in June in Shreveport, Louisiana. In this comedy she plays a struggling acttress who enlists in the Marines.

She had hoped to rent a big house in Shreveport and have John Mayer share it with her. Fantasies of warm southern nights under the stars and afternoon barbecues filled her head.

But John told her it’s out of the question - he’s way too busy working this summer. He’ll try to visit when he can, but that’s the best he can do.

Karma’s a bitch. Last time she was filming in Louisiana - for Dukes of Hazzard - she didn’t want Nick to visit. Now she’s begging her lover to visit, and he won’t.

JES’ PREDICTION: This is more than a summer gone awry - it sounds like the entire relationship is headed down a gnarly path. I don’t think they’ll be together much longer.

In a rare display of testosterone, Nick Lachey bowed up against some clueless guy in a valiant effort to save the pride of his live-in girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.

Nick and Vanessa had a run-in on Friday night at a pre-Kentucky derby party with a guy who was not so representative of Southern hospitality.

According to Nick (via his reps), the couple were making their way through the party at Club Felt, led by Nick’s bodyguard, when some drunk guy yanked Nick’s arm and caused Vanessa to fall down.

Dude! Don’t push a lady down!

While Vanessa tried to calm her pissed off boytoy, nearby police took control of the situation and cuffed the guy. They asked Nick if he wanted to press charges, but Lachey and Minnillo were content to just put the night behind them.

I would love this story even more if Vanessa wasn’t in it, and if Nick was defending Jessica Simpson, and if Jess dumped John Mayer. Nothing against John, but I just prefer Nick. I know it’s unlikely at this point, but I’m still hoping for a miracle for The Newlyweds stars.

Vanessa Minnillo has been showing off an impressive pair of $40,000 diamond stud earrings that boyfriend Nick Lachey gave her.

The backstory is that the earrings were sort of a “shut up” present. They were not the gift Vanessa wanted. She has been hoping for a diamond ring - an engagement ring, to be exact. Nick doesn’t consider himself ready for that commitment just yet, though rumor has it that the couple are moving in together, so he presented her with the earrings to buy himself some time.

Personally, I’m glad that Nick hasn’t proposed to Vanessa. And since Jessica isn’t publicly married yet (to our knowledge), I’m still holding out for a Nick-and-Jessica reunion!

Rumors are popping up all over the web about Nick Lachey’s honey Vanessa Minnillo. She hasn’t been happy with the way her hair has been looking lately and, reportedly, she’s been admiring Jennifer Lopez’s and/or Jennifer Aniston’s tresses. Maybe both?

Vanessa would love to go to (the) Jennifer’s hair stylist - but he happens to be Ken Paves.

Here’s where it gets complicated. Ken is the stylist that Jessica Simpson put on the map. Ken knows Vanessa would like to become a client and that’s fine with him, but his first loyalty is always to Jessica and he doesn’t want to upset her.
