Jessica Simpson’s “Major Movie Star” has made it to the Philippine online publication, Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation. And not only that, the comedy flick will be showing in Philippine Theatres on May 6 via Viva International Pictures Release.

With the headline, “Jessica Simpson gets down and dirty in ‘Major Movie Star,’” Manila Bulletin writes:

She has achieved seven Top 40 hits, has two multi-platinum and three gold records under her belt, and is the star of the No. 1 box office movie “The Dukes of Hazzard.” She also starred with ex-husband Nick Lachey in their own reality show “Newlyweds” and has even appeared in the movies “Employee of the Month” and “Blonde Ambition.”

Amazon.com: Private Valentine is a flimsy retread of Goldie Hawn’s classic 1980 comedy Private Benjamin. But despite its many, many flaws–most significantly, after humiliating her platoon repeatedly, Valentine wins them over far too easily–Private Valentine is so puppy-dog eager to please that it’s hard to dislike. Simpson cheerfully makes fun of herself and clearly wants to escape her sex-bomb image (the movie puts very little emphasis on her curves). Also featuring Steve Guttenberg, Cheri Oteri, and an actually funny (and all too brief) appearance by Michael Hitchcock (Best In Show, Waiting for Guffman). –Bret Fetzer

Jessica Simpson might have to wait a tad bit longer for that marriage proposal from boyfriend, Tony Romo.

Jess has quashed the abounding rumors that she and Tony are out and about shopping for wedding rings. The couple, who started dating two years ago, in 2007, aren’t looking for rings, but instead are scouring for DVDs.

“It’s funny to me that people are saying that Tony and me are out shopping for diamonds. Trust me, we’re not out shopping for diamonds - if anything we are out going to buy DVDs. That’s pretty much it,” the Do You Know singer reveals, while adding, “We have movie nights and cooking and ordering in, but there has not been any diamonds in this relationship.”

And speaking of DVDs, Jessica’s newest film, Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous, which was formerly known as, Major Movie Star, is hitting stores in February! Although the movie is being released straight to DVD, I think that her fans are still eager to see it. So, buy copies as soon as it gets out into the market, and tell me what you think about it.

And while we’re in the topic of Jessica’s career, I’m happy to note that her concert with country-pop act, Rascal Flatts, has been officially confirmed by promoter, Live Nation, last Friday, January 9. They will perform on February 25, at the Idaho Center in Nampa. Tickets will go on sale at 10AM on Saturday, January 17, for the affordable rates of $51.75 and $67 at ICTickets, or if you want, you can purchase them online via Livenation.com.

Jessica Simpson’s involvement with the Army has apparently translated beyond the big screen in her newest movie, Major Movie Star (which will be renamed as Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous), in which she plays an actress aspiring to be a soldier, and has rubbed off on the blonde crooner, as she headed off to Patriot High, Riverside CA, as the price for a text-message contest sponsored by the U.S. Army and K- FROG, a country music radio station.

Apparently, her appearance at the school made a lot of people, particularly the students, very happy. Out of the 11,000 texts, 5, 067 of them were from the winning school, making it clear that the students of Patriot High were bent on seeing the singer- actress.

When she arrived on Wednesday afternoon, Jess was greeted by a group of school administrators, K-FROG staff, a handful of students, and of course, the paparazzi. But these paparazzi weren’t like the ones the Jessica was used to. Seniors Gregory and Courtney Brown were snapping up a storm, just to make sure that her visit makes it into the yearbook. Jessica had made it clear that members of the media weren’t allowed to attend the event.

The excited students were psyched to see her up close, and packed the gymnasium where she was scheduled to talk to them and possibly answer some of their questions.

“It’s a cool thing to happen at a new school,” senior, Chelsea Drachslin said.

Meanwhile, the school’s principal, Jay Trujillo, said that winning the contest was a great way to build up the school which opened last year.

“It’s fantastic for our school,” Trujillo said.

So what is this movie all about?

“When fluffy, bubble gum movie star Megan Valentine (Jessica Simpson) suddenly finds herself broke and humiliated in the public eye, she wanders from the wreckage of a car accident and witlessly enlists in the U.S. Army hoping in vain that it will change her life.”

However, for you folks in the US, it was confirmed by PerezHilton.com that although being a box office success debuting at number one in Russia (yes, number 1!), the film will be released Straight to DVD and will be renamed Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous. *Awwwww*

Now that’s just sad, right?! I actually saw the movie’s trailer last night and I thought it was really funny and cute. Well Jessica sure didn’t stretch out so much of her acting prowess in the film, but I sure am still excited to catch it on theaters.

No wonder Jessica Simpson looks as tone as she does - she’s been working out a lot lately for her role in Major Movie Star!

The singer/actress was spotted in Hollywood going for a run. I was really kind of hoping she’d look all sweaty and out of breath, kind of how I look when I go for a run, but: NO. She looked beautiful, even then. (more…)

Jessica Simpson was allegedly 11 hours late for a promotional interview. The actress was due to speak to Lara Spencer of America’s ‘The Insider’ show at 10 a.m. However, Jessica didn’t arrive until 9 p.m., leaving Laura - who had flown to Louisiana, where Jessica is currently filming new movie ‘Major Movie Star,’ to conduct the interview - waiting for 11 hours. Poor Jessica. The girl just can’t catch a break. Her movies have all been flops, or have been predicted to be flops, her music is good but…her sound is the same (sorry, it is, I had to be honest), her love life is non-existent (I’m STILL waiting for Nick and Jessica to rekindle their marriage — it’s a long shot, I know, but I still think it could totally work out) and now? NOW? Jessica Simpson has broken her nose.

We reported before that Jessica was on the cover of Germany’s edition of Glamour magazine, and it appears as though she’s making the rounds. Now Jessica is on the cover of Holland’s TV/Film magazine.

I can’t read any of this, considering it’s in Dutch, but for any of you who took Dutch classes in high school or college now is the time to brush up on your reading skills!! (Or, you know, if you’re just bilingual. And if you are, I heart you.)
