Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have ended their romance – again, and this time for good. Possibly. “It has been rocky and it had been rocky, and it reached the end of the road,” a source close to Mayer said. “It is definitely over – the relationship has ended.”

Those on Simpson’s side confirm that the romance has come to an end, but say the door is always open for the pair to reunite. “They broke up Sunday night, but who knows what the future will hold,” says a Simpson source. “This is the twelfth time they’ve broken up. Their relationship is volatile. Last week they felt better than ever. This week, things are rocky. Who knows what the future will bring. ”

Simpson, 26, and Mayer, 29, have been together about a year, though were coy about the relationship until recently. Just last month, the couple split, but then only days later appeared to have reconciled after a heavy round of emailing and talking.

“They tried to make it work. They dated for a year,” says the Mayer source, who adds that the couple’s time together in New York and more recently in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico were an attempt “to talk things over.” But that was then. Now, says the source: “It’s over.”

Simpson’s pal says the singer is “used to” the back and forth with Mayer by now. “She love [John] but she has to be true to herself.” As for any reason’s behind this most recent split: “Every relationship has its differences, but with Jessica and John those differences were starting to become more and more apparent,” says the Mayer source.

Jessica Simpson’s growing bust size has pals wondering whether she’s pregnant with on-again, off-again beau John Mayer’s baby.

A pal revealed to the National Enquirer that Simpson’s breasts had grown so huge in such a short time that her friends were wondering whether the stork will soon be paying her a visit.

“Her friends are astounded at how huge Jessica’s breasts have gotten, and are asking each other if she could be pregnant,” the National Ledger quoted the pal, as telling the tabloid.

Another reason why pals also think that Simpson is pregnant, is because not only has she been taking care of herself, but also because she refuses to confirm or deny the reports.

“Her breasts are positively huge, and she really seems to be taking care of herself,” the pal said.

“She’s not saying anything one way or the other when the subject comes up, but women who put on weight don’t smile when someone suggests they might be pregnant,” added the source.

However, Jessica Simpson’s publicist denies that she is expecting.

The singer recently confirmed that she had split from beau John Mayer, though the pair were spotted in Cabo this weekend attempting to rekindle their romance. They were last spotted having a lover’s quarrel on the balcony of their oceanfront villa.

This split between Jessica Simpson and John Mayer doesn’t seem to be working out so well … The two of them were seen going into her hotel room at the Soho Grand in NY Sunday night and John didn’t leave until about noon the next day, complete with a great big smile slapped on his face.

Sources say Jessica is cautious about getting back together with John, who told her he needed his “space.” The source says John’s scared of commitment, so he breaks up, regrets it, and then begs her to get back together. They’ve done this about a dozen times …

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have ended their romance – but perhaps not for good.

A source close to Simpson told PEOPLE magazine, “They have broken up. But they have broken up and gotten back together at least 10 times before.” According to the source, the pair are in constant contact – even as Simpson promotes her film Major Movie Star at the Cannes Film Festival in France. “They talk to each other at least six times a day. I don’t know if this breakup is permanent, but for right now they are broken up.” In fact, the pair have “been emailing and talking to each other,” since Simpson went to Cannes, says a Simpson friend. “I’m sure they’ll get back together.”

As for why the two singers split, a friend of Mayer’s says, “John did say that he broke up [with Jessica]. He said that it was because he was just over it.” But the pal says there is no other woman. “He’s fine about it, he’s not upset – but he’s definitely not looking for someone right now.”

Jessica Simpson has confirmed what I have been suspecting for a couple of weeks! She and John Mayer are OVER.

Jessica and John spent months refusing to talk about their relationship, but finally confirmed their romance in March. They were last seen together at an event in NY on May 7.

But John’s not sitting around pining over Jessica. He reportedly was at the NY nightclub Stereo over the weekend, hitting on every super-skinny girl there. The source says it was only the REALLY skinny girls he was hitting on, too…the complete opposite of curvy Jessica.

He seemed especially fond of one Asian model, but the source says John left the club alone. Some in their circle say they fully expect John and Jess to get back together because they break up and make up all the time… mainly because John objects to the way Jessica dresses.

Who would have guessed that Jessica Simpson isn’t blonde after all! [Insert dumb blonde joke here] hehe

Jessica Simpson has revealed she isn’t the natural blonde she is often taken to be.

She told Extra recently that her newly dyed brunette locks are much closer to her natural tone: “People don’t know that about me. I was really blonde as a kid, but then I just started getting darker and darker.”

She added that her decision to ditch the bleach - and to not be bothered by a few extra pounds on her usually slim frame - is part of her new more confident outlook: “I’ve really become comfortable in who I am and my skin and just feeling beautiful five pounds heavier, five pounds smaller.”

But that extra weight isn’t going to last long as she’s going to start getting into shape for her new film Major Movie Star - where she plays a celebrity who joins the Marines: “I am going to be all ripped!”

Jessica Simpson is heartbroken because her romantic summer plans have gone awry.

She starts filming Major Movie Star in June in Shreveport, Louisiana. In this comedy she plays a struggling acttress who enlists in the Marines.

She had hoped to rent a big house in Shreveport and have John Mayer share it with her. Fantasies of warm southern nights under the stars and afternoon barbecues filled her head.

But John told her it’s out of the question - he’s way too busy working this summer. He’ll try to visit when he can, but that’s the best he can do.

Karma’s a bitch. Last time she was filming in Louisiana - for Dukes of Hazzard - she didn’t want Nick to visit. Now she’s begging her lover to visit, and he won’t.

JES’ PREDICTION: This is more than a summer gone awry - it sounds like the entire relationship is headed down a gnarly path. I don’t think they’ll be together much longer.

In a rare display of testosterone, Nick Lachey bowed up against some clueless guy in a valiant effort to save the pride of his live-in girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.

Nick and Vanessa had a run-in on Friday night at a pre-Kentucky derby party with a guy who was not so representative of Southern hospitality.

According to Nick (via his reps), the couple were making their way through the party at Club Felt, led by Nick’s bodyguard, when some drunk guy yanked Nick’s arm and caused Vanessa to fall down.

Dude! Don’t push a lady down!

While Vanessa tried to calm her pissed off boytoy, nearby police took control of the situation and cuffed the guy. They asked Nick if he wanted to press charges, but Lachey and Minnillo were content to just put the night behind them.

I would love this story even more if Vanessa wasn’t in it, and if Nick was defending Jessica Simpson, and if Jess dumped John Mayer. Nothing against John, but I just prefer Nick. I know it’s unlikely at this point, but I’m still hoping for a miracle for The Newlyweds stars.

Jessica Simpson opens up about hair, her weight and the perils of dairy. In an interview with Extra, Simpson, who recently dyed her blond hair brown, reveals that she is naturally brunette. “People don’t know that about me,” the star says, adding, “I was really blond as a kid, but then I just started getting darker and darker.”

The change isn’t phasing Jess, though, who claims, “I’ve really become comfortable in who I am and my skin and just feeling beautiful five pounds heavier, five pounds smaller.”

Speaking of healthy, Extra reports that Simpson is currently getting in shape for an upcoming film in which her character joins the Marines (talk about disarming the enemy!). “I am going to be all ripped,” Simpson says. Getting there isn’t easy though, even for Jess, who has weaknesses like everyone else. “I’m not good on sugar,” she admits.

Even worse for the pop-star turned actress? Dairy! “You’ll hear it come out of all ends!” the star jokes. Suddenly, we have visions of Jess’ home life, with adorable boyfriend John Mayer secreting cheese away from his lactose-intolerant lady.

Despite her digestive woes, Simpson has her life and business on track, having recently added a home line to her label. “I aspire to be a brand like Ralph Lauren,” she says.

Remember the good old days when Jessica and Ashlee Simpson were best friends? Like the hair colors they’re now sporting and the guys they are seeing, the relationship between the once-close siblings is no longer what it used to be. While their reps insist the sisters are still close, a tsunami seems to be building.

“There’s certainly a sibling rivalry between them,” a source close to the two tells Star. The trouble began, says another insider when Jess’s boyfriend, John Mayer, pointed to a glamorous magazine photo and asked Jess, “How old is this picture of you?” But-whoops!-it was a shot of Ashlee! “Jessica read John the riot act,” says our source. “He definitely touched a nerve.”

Her sensitivity on the subject seems to be the direct result of Ashlee’s emergence as a sex kitten, a role once owned by Jessica. That Ashlee has become the hot blonde – a transformation that came courtesy of a surgeon’s knife, a bottle of peroxide and dramatic weight loss- is troubling to Jessica, who has morphed into a buxom and sometimes frumpy brunette due to a dye job and about 20 extra pounds. “Jessica hears the catty talk about how Ashlee looks like her- from two years ago,” says the source. “It totally bothers her.”

In what has become rare during the past few weeks, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer were seen together at the “Poiret: King of Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Jessica is looking quite busty in these photographs, which isn’t out of the ordinary, except I’m wondering why she’s suddenly all about showing off her body again. It must be the trick of having John Mayer in her life - before him (and after her breakup with Nick Lachey), she seemed quite fond of covering up.

Anyway, she looks great here, if not a tad overly orange-y.

Photographers caught up to Jessica Simpson this weekend, where they photographed her wearing a low-cut scoop neck dress that looks alarmingly like my grandmother’s sofa upholstery.

For the past couple of weeks now, Jess has been party-hopping without arm candy John Mayer. Trouble in paradise, or is she just tired of being on the road?

Bluepointe staffers and diners got quite the jolt last Monday night (April 23, 2007), when celebrity couple Jessica Simpson and John Mayer arrived at the posh Buckhead eatery for a late dinner. We’re told that the couple slid into a booth (yes, on the same side of the table) and split a bottle of wine. Chef Doug Turbush prepared sea bass for the Chicken of the Sea-challenged Simpson, while Mayer had a filet mignon.

Apparently, Simpson had a fan among the diners. The couple received complimentary dessert from an anonymous patron. We’re told that the former Buckhead resident (John Mayer) and Jessica Simpson later closed down the restaurant.

Vanessa Minnillo has been showing off an impressive pair of $40,000 diamond stud earrings that boyfriend Nick Lachey gave her.

The backstory is that the earrings were sort of a “shut up” present. They were not the gift Vanessa wanted. She has been hoping for a diamond ring - an engagement ring, to be exact. Nick doesn’t consider himself ready for that commitment just yet, though rumor has it that the couple are moving in together, so he presented her with the earrings to buy himself some time.

Personally, I’m glad that Nick hasn’t proposed to Vanessa. And since Jessica isn’t publicly married yet (to our knowledge), I’m still holding out for a Nick-and-Jessica reunion!
