During an appearance in the Australian MTV Awards, Ashlee Simpson, got the attention of online snarkfest, Go Fug Yourself, which is “synonymous with the (sometimes unfair) critiquing of celebrities’ sartorial choice,” according to Pedestrian.TV.

The post is composed of a faux-dialogue between Ashlee and hubby, Pete Wentz on the use of Ash’s Ellery dress’s back draping as a baby sling. Read the entire dialogue below.

PETE WENTZ: Ashlee? You’re supposed to be smiling more.

ASHLEE SIMPSON-WENTZ: Pete? Honey pie? You’re not smiling either.

PETE: You’re the one who said, “Oh, everyone thinks we’re having marital problems. We have to be HAPPY.”

ASHLEE: Just because I’m not showing my teeth doesn’t mean I’m not smiling. See? I have an upturn to my mouth. I’m just being STYLISH. What’s your excuse?

PETE: My excuse is that you’re not being stylish, and I’m aggravated.

ASHLEE: Said the boy whose pants are riding up over his socks.

PETE: Seriously, what are you wearing?

ASHLEE: It’s FABULOUS. You just don’t get it. I sewed a cape onto my dress in the shape of an infant sling! That way, I can wear this and bring the baby out with us. Or just use it as my purse. Or just remind everyone that I am both hip AND a grounded mother who always has her child in her heart.

PETE: It’s insane. You look like a witch. You’re going to catch that thing on a chair and fall over and concuss yourself and probably get amnesia, and THEN where will we be?!?

ASHLEE: On the cover of People?

PETE: … Hmm. Actually, that’s not a bad silver lining. Just try not to have the kid in it when it happens.

I actually found it funny. Though I think that Ash’s dress was gorgeous on her, but I was also wondering what the black drape on her back was for. This was just a fun contemplation on a question that they were also asking themselves.

After months of near hibernation, new mom Ashlee Simpson, with partner in crime, big sister, Jessica, is back out with a vengeance!

Ash was seen with some girlfriends, (but thankfully without baby son, Bronx Mowgli in tow, or husband Pete Wentz) while they partied at the Bar Deluxe in Las Vegas, last Thursday night, sporting red hair… again! When we last saw her hosting the PURE New Year’s Eve party with husband, Pete Wentz, she had (then) newly bleached her hair blonde from her previous red locks, saying that she was happy that she was blonde again since she couldn’t very well bleach her head while she was pregnant.

Well, apparently, she wasn’t too happy with her new look because roughly a week later, she lost the blonde, wavy locks, and got back to her previous look of straight, red hair. So just to clear up your minds and mine, she went from blonde, to red, then blonde again, then finally red again. Confused much, Ash?

On the other hand, another Simpson sister, Ash’s big sis, Jessica, looked like she had another shot of collagen in the lips (or whatever it is that she injects into them), since almost all pictures taken of her on that same night, Thursday, saw her with pouting lips (more than her usual pout, anyway). Or it may just be a result from all the alcohol that she took in that night. So, which is which? I, for one, prefer her less pouty, but cuter look. How bout you?

Anyway, Jess joined up with Ash and her friends at the Luxe for a fun girls-only night out, and maybe to have a little sisterly bonding, Now ain’t that sweet?

Some people have commented that Jessica Simpson should stick to designing fashion apparels, and just forget her singing and acting.

So when I saw these to-die-for pumps at Amazon.com, I think that there might be a sliver of truth in what those people are saying. Well, if there is one thing that I can say for Jess, it is that this girl knows fashion (most of the time, anyway).

It comes in a variety of shades, but this Purple Passion version of a Jessica Simpson Dover Slingback really did capture my attention. If you need the “wow” factor to sizzle up your ensemble without emptying your credit cards, then I recommend this pair to you. The semi-hidden platform, along with the straight heel, creates a dramatic and eye-catching effect, the black on purple trim makes it look more interesting, and the oversized buckle, adds to its appeal.

Well, well, it seems that the rivalry of Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson is back. But not in the music hit charts.

When Brit decided to shave all of her gorgeous, blonde hair off last year, she didn’t realize that it will point her to a new path. And no, it’s not the entire Circus that she has been embarking on, but the experience that she needs to start a hair extension line!

Do you remember the wigs and extensions Britney sported?

According to the National Enquirer’s source, “There was a time when Britney dreaded having to wear a wig or extensions whenever she went out in public, but now she’s gotten hooked on them because they’re so much easier than dealing with cuts, coloring and styling.”

If this is true (and I’m not saying that it is), it means Brit is going up against her old rival, Jessica.

Jess launched her own line of extensions with stylist Ken Paves awhile back, which is doing quite good in sales.

So people, from who would you buy your extensions from? Brit or Jess?

Is there an outfit shortage that we don’t know about?

You can definitely have reason to ask that question when we have three – read three – celebrities wear the same dress in the same month!

But kudos to fashionista, Jessica Simpson, because at least, she was the first one to be seen in the dress while promoting her new fragrance, Fancy, at Macy’s in Chicago earlier this month, December 9, to be more specific.

Two weeks later, Beyoncé Knowles wore the same dress in her performance on Saturday’s X- Factor. Beyoncé, who has Thierry Mugler for the sole purpose of designing her tour outfits, and an entire catwalk collection to choose an outfit from!

And if that isn’t enough, actress Elisha Dushku showed up in, yes, the very same Nicole Miller dress in the Spike TV Video Game Awards just last week.

The deciding factors were their (at least) different kinds of pants and shoes. Jess wore her Nicole Miller dress with black leggings and knee length boots, Beyoncé worked it with wet look leggings and strappy sandals, while Elisha paired it with black leggings and black boots.

But we should take note, that there are people who wear the dress, but there are other people who own the dress. So who in your opinion, gave justice to the dress? Though in my humble opinion, the dress isn’t all that…but in retrospect, what does it matter? Apparently, these celebrities’ stylists thought that the dress was stylish enough to be worn thrice and suffer the mockery of the public. ‘Nuf said.

Jessica Simpson is one of those celebrities who is often lauded for her sense of fashion, not to mention her (almost always) immaculate hair, and generally pretty face. So what happens if we face off Jess and other celebrities in terms of fashion?

First Face-Off: Hair

Long, soft, and wavy hair is the fad of celebrities nowadays. Enter J. Lo and Jess, who wore their locks in similar styles, though the fact the J.Lo is a brunette, and Jess is blonde is a moot point.

So who do you think looks more gorgeous in this style? Jess, who showcased her long blonde locks during the launch of her new fragrance, Fancy, at Macy’s in Chicago? Or does your vote go to J. Lo, who wore her gorgeous brown tresses similarly during a recent movie premiere? You do the judging.

Second Face-Off: Dress

Short, cute dresses could never go wrong, nor could it go out of fashion. Enter Miranda Kerr and Jess, who wore the same Hervé Léger dress, albeit in different colors, in two different affairs (imagine if they wore it to a single event at the same time?!).

Now, who looked better in it? Did the black version of the frock, worn by Jess when she stopped by the The Late Show with David Letterman look more chic? Or do you think it suited Victoria’s Secret model, Miranda Kerr better, when she showed off a red version of the dress at one of the brand’s fashion show? Again, you decide.

Ashlee Simpson has come a long way since being a style wallflower in the shadow of older sister Jessica. “I used to look at a beautiful girl on the cover of a magazine and think I could never be that,” the 23-year-old singer tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

But Simpson – who has churned through countless haircuts and colors over her six years of stardom – has graced recent covers of Cosmopolitan, CosmoGirl! and Seventeen. Now she’s the cover girl on Us’ 2008 Beauty Makeover Special issue, which includes 30 pages of bonus makeovers, tips, and star style.

“I definitely embrace my sexy side, but at the end of the day, I still feel like the girl next door,” she tells Us. “I like to get dressed up now, and that’s something I’ve never been into before.” Simpson also opens up to Us about her April 2006 rhinoplasty. “I think as long as people have two eyes, then you probably know the answer,” she says.

“[Plastic surgery] is something that everybody should think about for a really long time,” she tells Us. “Once you know it’s something you really feel comfortable with, then to each their own.” Still, the singer downplays her own transformation. “I was never really unhappy with how I looked, [and] I don’t think I am more beautiful than I was [before],” Simpson tells Us. “I just see the same old goofy girl I see every day.”

This past weekend held a busy Saturday for Jessica Simpson, as the With You singer ended the day aboard a flight headed to the Middle East.

Jess began the day by attending an autograph session at Dillard’s Stonebriar Center (in Frisco, Texas - just northeast of Dallas - I wish I could have stopped by!) to promote her latest designs in her new fashion line. Her pup, Daisy, stayed by her side throughout the appearance. (more…)

Earlier this month, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo were hiding out in Hawaii. This wasn’t just a “for fun” vacation, though – the couple were there together while Tony was playing for the NFC team in the Pro Bowl.

They look cute together, and that’s all I have to say. This is one of the few pictures of Tony Romo where I actually think he looks attractive. But that’s just me. (more…)

Ashlee Simpson recently did a photo shoot — not for a magazine, but for her upcoming album — and WOW! These photos turned out incredible. I’ve put them in order, from my favorite to my least favorite, though I have to admit that even my least favorite is pretty good.

I’m not sure how much these were photo-shopped, but I’d love to see the “before” shots to compare them. Photoshop is a lifesaver for that kind of thing.

My favorite photo is the one posted above – I love the warm, golden tones of Ashlee’s skin and hair, the metallic texture of the background and the stark black polo. Ashlee skin looks flawless in this photo! LOVE! (more…)
