Jessica Simpson and her Daisy Dukes

Okay, one of the roles that helped put Jessica Simpson on the charts as an actress was her role in the 2005 movie, The Dukes of Hazzard. That was Jess’s first movie, and naturally, she must have felt some apprehension on stepping into the shoes (or in this case, shorts) of a popular television show character.
So let’s look back on what Jess felt on the day that she wore the legendary Daisy Dukes.
On what she did to when she found out that she would play Daisy: Yes. The first thing I did when I found out…I ate a huge piece of chocolate cake. And I was like, “Okay, I’m done. All right, here I go! Let’s go to the gym!” (I would’ve done the same thing. If I knew that I would be on a strict diet and go to the gym for months on end, I would definitely pig out, say goodbye to my favorite comfort foods, then get to work.)
On her work out for her role: It was pretty grueling…I worked out for two and half hours a day, six days a week, for about two months. (Ouch.)
On her signature Daisy Dukes pairs that she had to try on: I tried on over a hundred. And I had to take Polaroids of all of them.
On what made her decide what pair to wear: Well, it’s the ones that the girls like on the butt and the guys like on the butt. (Oh yes, Jess. I bet that almost all, if not all of them, of the boys who watched the movie have you and your shorts as there fave parts. And that’s a compliment.)
On her alleged shyness and the revealing outfits she had to don for Daisy: That was the biggest challenge for me. I mean, that was me acting. To just “strut my stuff” in that…that’s very much not me. I like my little dresses, you know. So that was pretty much the hardest part about doing the movie.
