Oh no!

The rumor mill has been abuzz lately, and Jessica Simpson is still the topic of their intrigues. After a rather dreadful saga in her career, reports (more like rumors and gossip from people who have nothing else to do) have been flowing in that Jessica Simpson is hanging up her microphone and will be taking a year off from music!

“Sources” who are “close” to the singer tell LaneyGossip that she is no longer interested in making country music or touring for the following year. Of course, the e-zine says that this could actually be a front for Jessica’s admission of failure with her country music. That, plus the heat she’s been getting recently for weight gain and on-stage meltdown has probably made her come to this decision to step out of the spotlight for a while.

“[I] am told by sources exclusively that Jessica Simpson fired her band last week after suspending the tour. She’s taking a year off. Which essentially means the label doesn’t want her, that country music doesn’t want her, that she needs to find something else to do.”

Oooohhhh…Harsh!

But still, no official announcements have been made by the singer’s camp on this matter. And although, admittedly, her country music career never really took off, or rather did not soar as high as her pop music career, I would have to admit that Jess is slowly but surely, trying to make her niche in this industry. Hey, it doesn’t happen overnight!

In my opinion, Jess should try to calm down, and not make any rash decisions. She’s not the only one affected by this, if ever this is true, but also her band and her fans (yes, she still has them).

So this finishes up the list of nominees for the 44th Country Music Awards.

By the way, there are still press people who want to rain on Jess’s parade. They are harping on the fact the Carrie Underwood (Jessica’s beau, Tony Romo’s ex) got 3 nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist and Video of the Year, while Jessica got none. But hey, we must keep in mind that Jess just joined the country music scene, and Carrie’s been there since she started her career. And the fact that Jess is one of the announcers is already a big honor onto itself, so let’s try not to be too harsh, okey people?

This past weekend held a busy Saturday for Jessica Simpson, as the With You singer ended the day aboard a flight headed to the Middle East.

Jess began the day by attending an autograph session at Dillard’s Stonebriar Center (in Frisco, Texas - just northeast of Dallas - I wish I could have stopped by!) to promote her latest designs in her new fashion line. Her pup, Daisy, stayed by her side throughout the appearance. (more…)

In case you haven’t already heard the news, Jessica Simpson is planning on releasing her first country music album this year to jumpstart her stalled singing career.

CMT reports that she is working with Nashville songwriters and hopes to emulate the work of female country notables including Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Reba McEntire. According to People, she hopes to write at least a few of the songs on the album herself saying:

“Writing is a release for me… It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write. It’s just that it has been a while since I have opened the book.”

This is certainly a big departure from her early career as a pop star. Do you think she can pull off country?

Timbaland can fix anything, right? That’s what Ashlee Simpson is counting on.

Lots of positive buzz about her new song “Out Of My Head” which has been blessed with the Timbaland touch and she could really use the career boost.

Her 2004 debut album debuted at number one and sold over 2.5 million copies.

Her follow-up in 2006 failed to live up to the first one, selling less than half that amount. Ashlee’s third effort will be released in March.

It’s always been said that timing is everything, but in the world of Jessica Simpson, this phrase is especially true.

A source close to the blond bombshell says that like her hookup with John Mayer, Simpson’s recent “dates” with Owen Wilson are meant to drum up good favor in the court of public opinion. “When Jess last had a new album coming out, that’s when she was introduced to John. She’s got her first country album coming out, so now she’s been conveniently introduced to Owen, who is a fellow Texan. Better yet, the public is sympathetic to him.” (more…)

Ashlee Simpson recently did a photo shoot — not for a magazine, but for her upcoming album — and WOW! These photos turned out incredible. I’ve put them in order, from my favorite to my least favorite, though I have to admit that even my least favorite is pretty good.

I’m not sure how much these were photo-shopped, but I’d love to see the “before” shots to compare them. Photoshop is a lifesaver for that kind of thing.

My favorite photo is the one posted above – I love the warm, golden tones of Ashlee’s skin and hair, the metallic texture of the background and the stark black polo. Ashlee skin looks flawless in this photo! LOVE! (more…)

Bam Margera, the star of Jackass and Viva La Bam, has come clean about his romance with Jessica Simpson. Bam and Jessica were romantically linked in 2005 while Jessica was still married to Nick Lachey. Bam is now married to his childhood sweetheart, Missy Rothstein, and we all know that Jessica is, unfortunately, divorced from Nick.

Jessica has always, always denied the rumors of a romance with Bam. Bam has adamantly boasted that he and Jessica briefly dated. Recently, Bam started talking about their brief romance again - and he came clean about the truth, admitting that his fling with Jessica ended when Bam’s former fiancee discovered the affair. Yes, Ashlee Simpson has an alter ego, Vicky Valentine, and I’m curious to know (a) how long Vicky has existed and (b) how Ashlee came up with the name. It kind of sounds like a porn star’s name, doesn’t it? Or at least a stripper.

Ashlee says about Vicky: “You will know when Vicky is in the room” (presumably because Vicky is wild and crazy). I guess it’s really Vicky Valentine that has been dating Pete Wentz, then? Ashlee has been hard at work on her latest album, which due out in November. Read more about the album: (more…)
