Ash and Bronx Invade Melrose

ash-and-bronx

Ashlee Simpson can’t seem to stand to be even a day without her baby boy, Bronx Mowgli. Such is her dedication to her little angel that she even brought him to work with her.

On the set of the CS remake, Melrose Place, where Ash plays Violet Foster, a “bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret”, the songstress cum actress zipped back to her adorable baby boy when she wasn’t needed to be in front of the camera. The Pieces of Me singer spent two hours on the set for her new show that had her returning to her trailer plenty of times to change outfits throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Bronx seemed to enjoy his little outing with mommy. The adorable boy with the cute cheeks, alternated between being carried by his mother and rolling around in a stroller while Mommy Ashlee pushed him around, looking sporty in a pair of short shorts, tank top and tennis shoes.

Still focusing on the Simpson brood, how about Daddy Pete? Well, it seems that Ash has forgiven him for his night with the strippers – erm, skimpily clad dancers – and the trio were spotted at FAO Schwartz earlier today. It seems that Ash decided not to murder him for Bronx’s sake.

Anyway, they brought a life size plush pony, a Stack & Pull toy, a Sporty stroller, and Barefoot books with sing-along CD’s for their little rocker. But why the toys? Well, Pete conveniently answers in his Twitter page after their little shopping spree: Fao schwartz with the babe. Pretty much we bought a bunch of stuff cos he kept putting stuff in his mouth. Woo! Sanitary!

Melrose Place

Aawww…now I’ve come across something that made my heart quite warm.

Ashlee Simpson, new momma to 3-month-old son Bronx Mowgli, and wife to hubby, Pete Wentz, has said that her move to Melrose Place is so that she can be stable enough to be close to her little guy.

“She wanted something stable so she could be close to her baby,” a friend of the singer/actress reveals to People.com.

“She was specifically looking for something in television as her next step, that filmed in Los Angeles, so she wouldn’t have to be away from Bronx,” the source added.

And for those who don’t know yet, Ash, will be playing show’s newest resident, the “sex-kitten” Violet. According to Entertainment Weekly, Violet is a “bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret.” Another describes her character as a “small-town girl trying her luck in Los Angeles and will display a disarming naivety (that) masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within.”

Ash’s “pal” (Just wondering, why are there so many pals/ friends/ sources out there who are so keen to spill the beans about their so-called-friends?!) also adds that, “Music is still a passion but (Ashlee) felt this was the best thing for her and her family at this point in her life. She’s really excited about Melrose Place.”

Oh Ash! You’ve got your heart in the right place, but once filming starts, it’s quite doubtful that she would still have that much time for her baby. What with the sure-to-be hectic filming schedule and the following exhaustion, the new momma would barely have time-out for herself, much more for Bronx. But hey! It’s the thought that counts, right?

Simpson-Wentz’s Threesome Outing

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

threesome

Finally, we get to see Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s offspring, outside of an internet picture. The three were spotted in LAX and in Brighton and Manchester, England, as the threesome strolled for the Fall Out Boys’ UK tour.

FOB bassist/songwriter, Pete Wentz, tagged along his wife and 3-month-old son, Bronx Mowgli, for the band’s Fall European tour, where they headed off to lovely England. Ash and Bronx spent a week on the road with the famous pop/emo band before returning back home. Hmm, I wonder if Ash continued their mummy-and-me workout during the tour?

Anyways, this is the first time that the papz (and the rest of the camera-toting world) had a chance to snap photos of the Wentzs’ little boy. As most of you may recall, the couple did not want to “pimp” out pictures of their son to the magazines, hiding him, almost jealously, from the rest of the world. But finally, on December, they decided that the best gift that they could give to the people who care about them is a pic of them with their son. That was the first time that people saw Bronx, albeit it showed more of Ash and Pete’s faces than the baby’s, but still.

The young mommy seemed to be protective of her little angel and was seen holding him tightly to her chest, while papa Pete prefers to carry Bronx in a baby basket, with a cover on top, presumably to stop unwanted shutterbugs from taking any pics during their little family outing.

But still, it’s nice to know that Bronx gets time to spend with his mommy and daddy, despite the fact that they’re busy celebs. Hey, the little guy needs these moments, specially now that mom Ash is going to do Melrose Place, and dad Pete will continue with the tour.

Ashlee and Bronx’s “Mummy and Me” Workouts

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

ashlee-at-pure

New mom Ashlee Simpson has thought of a good bonding activity with son, Bronx Mowgli: a “mummy and me” workout.

Ash, who gave birth to her first child with husband bassist/ composer Pete Wentz in November, is determined to shed off 30 lbs of baby weight. And so has enlisted the help of her son for the workout.

The 24-year old singer, is following Jackie Keller’s 30-day Body After Baby plan, which means completing low-impact exercises, such as playing peek-a-boo with Bronx. She has already lost half of her excess weight goal.

And aside from the peek-a-boo exercise, she’s also closely monitoring the food she eats to ditch the excess pounds, and has taken to eating Nutrifit meals and snacks, which she has delivered daily.

A source revealed that “Ashlee is swapping French toast and sugary syrup for multi-grain bread and berries.”

So what does she do with the food (pizza and other fast-food takeouts) that hubby Pete is fond of bringing home? Well, she still eats them, but she’s cutting down on her intake. She only eats one slice of vegetable-topped pizza.

Hmmm… I wonder who eats the rest of the food? Do you think…uh, never mind.

Do you think that Ash ought to share her diet regimen with “big” sister, Jess? Well, I think that she won’t, because she insists that her sister is in great shape and that she should be left alone. But hey, if it’s good for her health, then she should share some tips, right? Maybe Auntie Jess could do the peek-a-boo exercises with Bronx too!

Little Bronx’s Book List

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

New daddy Pete Wentz is already planning on what he’ll read to his baby boy, 3-weeks old, Bronx Mowgli. He seems to be taking fatherhood seriously, since he has been all praises for his son, saying that he’s like “Columbus”, defending his pictures (or lack thereof) in his blog, and shopping for clothes and toys.

Curious about the books that this self-proclaimed emo rocker will read his son? Well, wonder no more!

“Growing up, my parents OD’d me on the library, and I was pretty loaded up when it came to children’s books. I definitely can’t wait to read some of my favorites, like ‘Goodnight Moons,’ ‘The Little Prince,’ and the ‘Mr. Men and Little Miss’ books,” he said, “I know that we already picked up the 50th anniversary copy of ‘Paddington Bear,’ which is a great one,” he added.

What?! No “Jungle Book” on the list? And here we thought that it was special.

Like any other new dad, is this Fall Out Boy, sleeping less?

“Ashlee is stoked because I don’t really sleep much. I’m not really worried about that. I should have been a shift worker. But in terms of how life might change, I have two dogs right now, and before I had the dogs, I was in a phase of my life that was particularly selfish. When I finally got them, I realized that if I didn’t get up, the dog doesn’t get fed, and no one is going to feed the dog for you,” the proud papa stated. He adds, “I spent 28 years living under this umbrella when it was raining out, and I finally removed the umbrella and felt the rain just like everyone else.”

Wow…and after this “deep” answer, he then told E! Online that his favorite thing about wife Ashlee is her breasts. No need to call in the big guns to understand that one.

Simpson-Wentz: Bronx Mowgli’s pics are NOT for sale

Friday, December 12th, 2008

The grapevine has been busy for the last couple of days, spreading around the tidbit that couple Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz, are having a hard time trying to find a buyer of their son, Bronx Mowgli’s pictures. It was said that they were trying to sell them (the pics) to celebrity magazines, but no one was “biting.”

This was blamed largely on Ashlee’s dad, cum manager, Joe Simpson, who was said to be trying to sell them for huge bucks. This according to perezhilton.com. But apart from that, one magazine insider says that covers featuring the pair don’t sell too well.

Because of the rumors that are flying around, proud papa, Pete Wentz has finally spoken about the issue of his son’s pics and whether they’re up for grabs or not.

Pete admits in his blog yesterday, December 11, that although he and Ashlee have been given many offers for the first pictures of their son, Bronx, they have decided not to give them to the media. He also had some thoughts on celebrities who actually go and sell their offspring’s photos.

Well, he might want to stress it a wee bit harder on his dear father-in-law though.

According to an email message he sent to magazine editors before the birth, the photos were up for sale. Not only that, there were even editorial controls built in, along with a whopping six-figure price tag.

This family gives a new meaning to the phrase, “contradicting statements”, don’t they? Family feud, anyone?

Baby Mowgli has “Quirkiest Name”

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Yep, that’s right! “2008’s Quirkiest Baby Names“, courtesy of OMG!, a celebrity website supported by Yahoo! Entertainment.

BRONX MOWGLI: This year’s most unusual moniker, courtesy of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. He grew up near Chicago and she hails from Texas — yet, inexplicably, the rock-star couple named their son after one of the toughest boroughs in New York City. Giving some insight, Wentz revealed the middle name Mowgli was inspired by the scrappy boy hero of Disney’s “The Jungle Book.” ” - Associated Press

The other babies who made it to the list are: Sunday Rose (Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s little bundle of joy, named after the day she was born), Zuma Nesta Rock (baby boy of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, named after a beach in Malibu and Bob Marley’s middle name), Honor Marie (daughter of Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, named after uhm, “honor” because the couple wanted their kid to grow up with dignity and respect), and Buster Timothy (son of Johnny Lee Miller and Michele Hicks, who wanted to combine quirkiness with tradition).

It’s quite apparent that the time when a simple “John” or “Michael” for the boys, and “Mary” or “Michelle” for the girls, has apparently passed. I guess that it’s easy for the parents to bestow a “quirky” name to their kid, but I think that they should keep in mind that they won’t be through an entirely lifetime being called with it. But then again, who cares if their names are weird, as long as they have millionaire parents and pampered lives, then the names don’t really matter. Their parents would still love them anyway, even sans the quirky names.

Christina Aguilera welcomes Pete and Ashlee to Parentsville

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Who can better understand new parents than a new parent, too.

And so for Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, pop diva, Christina Aguilera extends her warmest welcome for the two in the ranks of Hollywood parentsville.

In an interview with MTV News last Sunday, after her performance at the American Music Awards, Christina, who actually did not know that Ashlee already gave birth sent her congratulations to the couple.

“Oh, did they give birth? Oh, how exciting! Congratulations. I give my best. They’re about to be on the ride of their life. It’s just the most amazing thing you could ever experience,” Christina, who’s also new mom herself said.

Aside from being a mom to her son, Max Liron and a wife to Jordan Bratman, Christina is also busy promoting her latest album, “Keeps Gettin’ Better — A Decade of Hits” which is a collection of the singer’s most memorable songs and two brand-new singles.

Bronx Mowgli photos worth millions

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Well this isn’t really news; with people’s fetish over Hollywood babies, I would not doubt if Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’ firstborn’s first photos will be worth millions.

But for ‘argument’ sake, how much do you think Bronx Mowgli’s first magazine pics will be?

Well Monsters and Critics.com reports that Ashlee and Pete could possibly get a whooping $2million for their baby’s precious photos.

“I see Ashlee and Pete coming in at the low seven figures mark. Two million seems like a good, solid figure for Ashlee and Pete. It’s a two-celeb couple, so that’s a boost for them,” publicist Howard Bragman stated.

Then again we should keep in mind that the prices being set for Hollywood babies is going up and down depending on the parent’s status, and of course, popularity.

And so Bragman added, “Keep in mind, last year, Ashlee was the girl who sang along to the tape recorder. It was a PR nightmare. Now, she’s a newlywed and a new mom, so she’s a lot more relatable.” Bragman also advices that the couple should really learn from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who’ve millions from their children’s baby photos.

“Nobody does this better than Angelina. She and Brad Pitt have been very careful to make it clear that the money they’ve been getting has been part of their charity outreach work. The big bucks are a nice perk, but for them, the publicity is priceless,” he adds.

Now that is one good tip, huh?! ‘Guess we’ll just have to wait for now which big-time magazine publication will feature Ashlee and Pete’s precious baby on their front page.

Pete Wentz explains baby’s name

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

When Ashlee Simpson gave birth to Bronx Mowgli last Thursday, one of the first things that people probably asked was, “why that name?”.

Well Pete Wentz, Ashlee’s husband and Bronx’ father was more than willing to explain as to why they gave such name to their first born.

On an interview with Ryan Seacrest’s radio show last Tuesday (November 25), the Fall Out Boy bassist shared that his son’s middle name, Mowgli had some sort of romantic reason behind it.

“The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s a cool name,” tells Pete referring to the rambunctious boy in the Disney cartoon classic.

But while the baby’s middle name is no mystery anymore, the reason behind their baby’s first name is something that Pete still refused to reveal, with him just saying, “We came up with the idea Bronx. We’ve been throwing [ideas] back and forth a while. It’s kind of cool to just leave the narrative what it is. People are stoked or pissed or whatever. And you’re like, you know what: I don’t think anyone really has the real story.”

Hmmmm… could that be that they (with Ashlee) just wanted their son to have BMW as his initials?!

“No, no, no, it definitely is his name, but I don’t think anybody knows what the real story is of why or how,” Pete answers Ryan’s joking about to his son’s initials.

Oh well we can always give our guesses, right?! We all just have to be happy that Ashlee and Bronx are healthy and Pete is obviously proud to be a new dad.

Joel Madden believes Ashlee and Pete will be “great parents”

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Being a new dad that he is, Joel Madden sure knows how spectacular it feels to be a new parent.

And so, Nicole Richie’s partner and Harlow’s dad expressed how thrilled he was to hear that his pals, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz joins in the list of Hollywood’s new parents of 2008 for their first born, Bronx Mowgli.

While celebrating Good Charlotte’s upcoming remix album at Hollywood’s ECCO Ultra Lounge, Joel tells People about what he thinks of Ash and Pete as parents.

“They are going to be great parents. They both have really big hearts. I wish them the best. I know they have their hands full right now but I’m excited for them,” shares Joel.

Meanwhile, while Joel spends some quality time with Nicole and Harlow, his twin brother, Benji Madden is fixing a broken heart after a recent breakup with Paris Hilton. Get details about the story here.

Friends and family welcome baby Bronx Mowgli

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

As Ashlee Simpson-Wentz finally gave birth to baby Bronx Mowgli, everybody in the couple’s family and friends seems too elated to contain their excitement with the news.

MTVAsia.com compiled some of those congratulatory messages from Pete and Ashlee’s peers and kins. And here are some of them:

“I woke up to the news this morning, I couldn’t be more elated, I cried like a pu—. I know how excited Pete and Ash have been [in] anticipation of this moment. Uncle Travie’s ready to babysit the little guy, he’s gonna be the greatest rapper alive by age 5 if I have my way!!!”Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy said through an e-mail.

“Whenever a friend is about to have a baby, you just hope it’ll come out healthy, with all its fingers and toes. It seems like this baby not only came out healthy, but with a little personality to boot. That made me smile, and laugh a bit. I’m nothing but ecstatic for Pete and Ash. I’m literally on the other side of the country, and am still in some sort of shock. I guess it’ll hit me in a few days when I head off to Los Angeles, and perhaps meet the little man for the first time. Either way, this is a big deal, and I don’t think I have anything to say that can really encompass how important this is to everyone, including myself. Salud, Pete Wentz! You’re a dad, and I think dads are pretty damn cool. I’m jealous (in a loving way).” — Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman.

“Bronx is beyond precious. I’m over the moon with joy. Life is a beautiful miracle. Ashlee and Pete [are] healthy, happy and enjoying every moment.”
– Aunt Jessica Simpson.

“I just want to congratulate you guys on your new arrival (which I know you will nickname Gabey Baby). Just to let you know, I am having a custom purple hoodie made with a special baby-proof bling gold chain with my face in it.”Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta.
