Jessica Simpson is set to join the television show “X Factor.” She has been slated to replace Louis Walsh on the judging panel and TV bosses are hoping Jessica will boost ratings.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “They are looking for a looking for a female American judge to balance things up and Jessica is a sexy girl and will add some glamor to the show.”

“X Factor” auditions begin next month and the new series will air in August.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were at Parc together on Saturday night - and guess what they were doing?

Well, no…not that.

The on-again, off-again couple were spotted holding hands. In front of the cameras!

After many rumors of being together, apart, and “just friends,” it looks like they’ve finally defined their relationship, in public.

I think these two are cute together, which is something I haven’t been able to bring myself to admit. I loved Jess and Nick. They were iconic.

But John Mayer and Jessica Simpson seem to match each other well. Jessica seems like she feels so comfortable with John Mayer. and it makes me ridiculously happy for her, considering I don’t actually know the pop star. I think John Mayer is good for her - she seems like she just wants to lay low and be “normal” for a bit (whatever “normal” is for someone who is constantly in the media spotlight, courtesy of the paparazzi).

On Monday, April 2, 2007, Ashlee Simpson took to the streets (no, no - not in that way) to do what she seems to be doing a lot of lately - therapeutic shopping. We’re not sure what she’s nursing, or maybe it’s just that she needs to find some way to spend all that money, but she was caught in Beverly Hills hittin’ the boutiques.

We recently found out that Ashlee Simpson was so convinced that the nearly 5 million dollar house she bought about four months ago was haunted that she hired people to exorcise it before she moved in. According to Janet Charlton, she even wrote a song about it:

We find this hard to believe but our source SWEARS it’s true. Last December Ashlee Simpson bought a 4.7 million dollar house in Beverly Hills. And the first thing she did when she was handed the keys was arrange for an exorcism or “spiritual cleansing.” She wanted any wandering spirits driven from the house before she occupied it. Apparently Ashlee was convinced her house in Studio City was haunted by a little girl who sometimes bounced a ball. She even wrote a song about this child ghost called “Eyes Wide Open.”

Jessica Simpson, who is sporting a brunette hairdo, arrived in Australia yesterday by the side of her boyfriend, singer John Mayer. John performed the first show of his Australian tour in Perth last night.
